HWY 20

Horseshoe pits in the middle of the redwoods. These pits are located on Highway 20(redwood hwy) in Mendocino County. I remember driving from Fort Bragg to Willits, when all of a sudden I spotted some back boards in this clearing. What a find.
If you build it they will come.

Wally Shipley

 The Legend Wally Shipley
I bought my first pair of horseshoes from this man. Matt and I called him up and asked if we could pick up some shoes. A couple of hours later we were standing at his front door totally puzzled. I was thinking this is some ones house and a nice house at that. He was gracious enough to invite us into his house and show us a display of horseshoes. His Office was wall to wall Trophies and horseshoes. Thats the day I caught the fever. Horseshoe Pitching.  Thanks Wally

PHOTOGRAPHER REX HARDY JR

Cabrillo Beach

The Boys decided to have a little blind-draw tournament at Cabrillo. Rudy and Ty walked away with the cash. Team Blue Jean hit a low point. Next Time?
Rudy is holding a check from Pasha Stevedoring & Terminals. Rudy and Billy(not pictured) work for Pasha and convinced them to sponsor a couple of teams at The 1st Annual Mario Danelo Horseshoe Tournament & Picnic. All the proceeds went to the SPHS Mario Danelo Scholarship Fund. Thanks
